The main objective of the position is to effectively reduce operating costs to the benefit of the Group’s bottom line through skilful negotiations with ports, terminals, feedering operators, depots and inland transport providers. At the same time, you will supervise and direct the performance of the procurement team in full cooperation with agents, HO and RO departments.
Your tasks:
- Ensure the validity of contracts and service agreements for all DRO sites.
- Coordinate with head office to ensure valid agreements with carriers and operators.
- Collaborate in the preparation of annual business plans and OPEX budgets.
- Monitor the local market and maintain good relations with suppliers.
- Obtain the best rates for the Group through analysis and negotiation.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and remain aligned with Group practices.
- Launch contract renewals ahead of their expiry date.
- Manage calls for tender, negotiations and awarding of contracts.
- Coordinate with legal experts to limit contractual risks.
- Maintain contract database and disseminate pricing information.
- Keep teams regularly informed of supplier performance and offers.
- Present executive summaries and analyze costs against budgets.
- Define processes, indicators and tools to monitor performance.
- Supervise department organization and team progress.
Profil recherché
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in maritime transport, logistics or integrated transport, or a deck officer qualification and experience in container shipping. You have relevant experience in port and terminal supply and/or container operations. You have strong negotiation skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills; a good understanding of OPS costs would be an advantage.
You are focused, analytical, persuasive and results oriented.
Fluency in English is mandatory; French is an asset.
