This position reports to the Managing Director EAF Cluster, based in Kenya, and will be responsible for all commercial activities within the East Africa Cluster.
You will manage an overall team of ~25 people over the 4 countries of the cluster, in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.
Main tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain good filling factor performance for trade services and ensuring COA and CSA are respected and met
- Identify and onboard new businesses within the cluster, as well as potential partnerships to stabilize services, develop trade services, and improve load volumes
- Boost import volume for both FOB and CIF clients
- Review client profiles and diversify cargo mix for the loadings
- Lead, coach, and guide sales teams and ensure objectives are achieved
- Promote and sell non-maritime products (VAS, TBL and Cross-Sale)
- Formulate commercial strategies which will see the Company grow market shares
- Responsible for creating long-term business strategies to improve revenue and cost reduction
- Lead the preparation of budgets and proposals for infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems and other resources within the area coverage
- Follow up on the weekly sales achievements and provide frequent updates to the management
Profil recherché
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, economics or related field, and an experience of 10+ years in sales and account management; regional or global sales experience will be an added advantage. A 5 years’ experience in a senior management role is preferred.
You have a strong knowledge of the shipping industry and an experience in East Africa, with some international exposure.
